CHAPTER 28 HARMFUL & EXOTIC ANIMAL ORDINANCE
On May 12, 2026 the Wheaton Town Board adopted the Chapter 28 Harmful & Exotic Animal ordinance with the recommended updates. The plan commission ordinance is an existing ordinance that was being updated from 2019.
Why update the harmful & exotic animal ordinance?
The Wheaton Town Board had decided to have the Parks Commission and Plan Commission review all ordinances within their respective areas that had no changes in 5 years for the following:
1.) Is the ordinance still needed?
2.) Does the ordinance need updates to better clarify information for residents/businesses and local government operations?
3.) Are any ordinance changes needed as relates to Wisconsin State law?
The ordinance will be added to Ordinances & Resolutions page under Government menu for future reference.
