The Wheaton Fire Commission has two positions up for appointment.

Currently one position is held by Steve Dybvik.  The current commissioner may request re-appointment.  The position will serve a term through April 2025.

Currently the second position is held by Dale Hayden.  The current commissioner may request re-appointment.  The position will serve a term through April 2026.  

Fire Commission Member Responsibilities

• Attend Fire Commission meetings as scheduled
• Handles some Wheaton Fire & Rescue personnel matters along with escalated personnel issues
• Assist with and review Wheaton Fire & Rescue job descriptions
• Handles appointment of the Fire Chief
• Assist with and review Wheaton Fire & Rescue SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
