The Town of Wheaton is offering the following items from Wheaton Fire & Rescue up for sale by sealed bid. Item condition will be described to the best of our knowledge however personal inspection is encouraged. All items are offered as is, where is with no guarantees or warranties. Bids will be opened publicly at 7:00pm (cst) on November 11th, 2025, at the above address. All bids must be received prior to bid opening date and time. The Town of Wheaton maintains the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Bids will be accepted/rejected by the Town Board after all bids are opened. Payment and pick up by November 22nd, 2025. All items can be viewed at the Wheaton Recycling Center during normal business hours located at 2429 20th St. Elk Mound, WI or by contacting the fire department at 715-874-6597 to set up a time.
Item #1 – Tires
Took these off a 2022 RAM 3500 new Chassis that was purchased to build a brush truck.
Nexen Radial AT Pro – LT 275/70 R18 (Qty. 4) (Roughly 100 miles of use)
Item #2 – Painted Steel Bumper
Took this off a new 2022 RAM 3500 Chassis that was purchased to build a brush truck.
Item #3 – Chrome Bumper
Took this off a new 2023 RAM 3500 that was purchased to build a Rescue truck.
Item #4 – Extrication Equipment (Includes lots A, B, C, D, E & F)
All extrication pieces worked as they should when recently taken out of service. Includes miscellaneous hydraulic hoses shown in below photo. This was all replaced with battery powered equipment.
- Honda GXV120 Motor with HURST hydraulic power unit.
- HURST - Electric power unit (120v)
- Hurst - Hydraulic spreader with mounting bracket
- Hurst – Hydraulic Cutter with mounting bracket
- Hurst – 1 Long and 1 Short Hydraulic Ram with mounting brackets
- 12V hose reel with Hydraulic hose and quick connect fittings
Item #5 – Diesel Motor
This was mounted on the water tender to pump water into other trucks. This is the motor only. Ran when removed, however, it smoked a lot of black smoke. Unknow what the issue is.
Item #6 – Compressor
This is from the fire station and is being sold as not working. Capacitors were replaced within the last few years, however it again doesn’t start. Had the motor tested and it was giving readings that the tech didn’t recognize. Other parts have been taken off for the new compressor that was installed. Personal inspection of what you are getting is highly recommended.
Item #7 – Miscellaneous Red Lights
These lights were replaced with LED lighting on the fire trucks. Some work, some don’t.
Item #8 – Milwaukee Tool - Case Only
This case is from a recently purchased drill/driver combo set.
Item #9 – Used Hose (per roll)
This hose failed testing with leaks/holes so it was taken out of service. Some ends have been removed.
